The final hearing on the zone change request for the property in our neighborhood at the north corner of Edgemoor and Nicholasville Road (1918 and 1922 Nicholasville Road – Applicant: Julie Butcher) has been scheduled to take place this Thursday Sept 2, 2021. The zone change requested is from Single Family Residential (R-1C) Zone to Professional Office (P-1) Zone.

As you may recall, SHNA was successful at the Planning Commission hearing regarding this matter back in March of 2020 when the commission voted to recommend DISAPPROVAL of the zone change. The zone change request process now requires that the City Council take a vote to finally adopt or reject the zone change.

This special City Council Hearing will take place at 5 PM on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the LFUCG Council Chamber, 2nd Floor, Urban County Government Building, 200 E. Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky. We are encouraging all who are able to attend to do so. Free parking in the city parking garage. Just ask for a parking token as you present your ID when you check into the building.

We are also requesting that neighbors voice their opposition to the zone change and ask the council to reject the proposal in the form of a letter emailed to the following addresses:
